Loans Operations Specialist

This person will manage the processing and closing functions for real estate investments funded through our platform. This person will be responsible for maintaining communication with the borrower, title company, broker-dealer, and outside attorneys and vendors while ensuring timeliness and accuracy.Responsibilities:

  • Assist Origination/Deal teams with gathering, reviewing, and assembling due diligence information and other pertinent documentation from pre-underwriting phase to deal closing

  • Work closely with an associated broker-dealer to coordinate the movement of capital to close transactions

  • Organize and coordinate the sources of capital as necessary

  • Perform financial reconciliations between initial investment offerings and final closing documents

  • Report findings to Underwriting and Asset Management teams

  • Assist in the verification, coordination, organization, and data management of deal-critical documentation, including title, insurance, third-party reports, settlement statement, loan agreement, operating agreement, appraisal, and more

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Investor Ops and Asset Management teams to ensure seamless processing of closings and transition of deals to Asset Management, while maintaining document and data integrity and organization

  • Identify and lead opportunities for operational improvement, both internally and externally

  • Drive sub-functional strategy and manage multiple workstreams, while delegating appropriately to Analysts as necessary


  • Knowledge of Calyx Software a must at good experience level

  • Bachelor's Degree with strong academic track record and professional references

  • Degree in economics, business, or pre-law a plus

  • 3+ years of experience with residential real estate

  • Experience in closing high volume loans for small businesses or real estate loans preferred

  • Bank background a plus

  • Demonstrated success in succeeding within a company

  • Clear and effective communication skills

  • Proven ability to adapt quickly and appropriately
