Under the direction ofthe Sleep Lab Medical Director, performs various polysomnograms and other sleepdisorder tests. Responsible for attaching electrodes and monitors to patientswho are participating in a sleep study. Monitors the patient throughout thesleep study and documents observations, collects data from various monitors andreports this information to the physician. Responsible for CPAP titration andoxygen therapy when applicable. Scores reports.
Degree/Diploma Program of Study
Polysomnographer: Mustbe a high school graduate or equivalent and hold RPSGT credential and exemptionfrom the SC Board of Medical Examiners. OR Hold the CRT/RRT credential from anaccredited program and have completed appropriate training and acceptance tosit for either the Respiratory SDS (sleep disorder speciality) Exam, BRPT Examfor the RPSGT credential, or the American Board of Sleep Medicine SleepTechnologist Registry Examination for the RST credentia.
