The Communication Specialist is responsible for building engagement, reaching a broad audience, and socialization of content through various media. Write according to style guidelines to convey and tailor key messages to a broad audience of end users through a variety of media (messages, talking points, videos, social, etc.) in support of communications and business objectives. The Communication Specialist should have a Bachelors Degree preferably in marketing, communications, business administration or a related field plus 2 years of relevant professional work experience required; or qualified candidate should have 6 years of relevant professional work experience required.
Solid understanding of the ever-changing social media landscape and innovative ways to message content.
- Demonstrated background in cultivating online communities required.
- Excellent oral and written communication and presentational skills required.
- Deep knowledge of social media tools, including social networking, bookmarking, collaboration, media sharing and blog publishing required.
- Demonstrated background in editorial and technical content development.
- Working knowledge of technology involved to create podcasts and videos as well as software to edit multimedia files required.
- Proficiency in content management and the use of content management systems required
- A background in interactive marketing or public relations is preferred.
